Uncorking the truth

My husband and I recently did a wine tour of the Casablanca and San Antonio Valleys with Uncorked Wine Tours. Connie and Jose Miguel were wonderful! We had no particular winery in mind. Our goal was to enjoy the day while learning about Chilean wines and finding good wines at a good value. The wineries Connie chose were excellent! We visited Emiliana Winery and learned about their very interesting biodynamic process. We also visited Indomita Winery, had a wine pairing lunch at Morande Winery, and visited Matetic Winery. All of the wines were very good. The winery tours provided by the passionate and professional winery representatives were very well done. The lunch at Morande was excellent and we dined while enjoying a wonderful view. Connie previously worked with Ampora Wine tours in Mendoza (which we also visited on a prior trip) so she was a wealth of knowledge on comparing and contrasting Argentine and Chilean wines. Jose kept us moving along as we could have lingered at any one of these beautiful wineries. Prior to arriving in Chile, Connie helped me arrange a transfer from Valparaiso to the Santiago airport and provided recommendations on hotels in Santiago and Valparaiso. These arrangements were all great. We would highly recommend Uncorked Wine Tours.

Spending the day wine tasting with Connie and Jose Miguel in the Casa Blanca Valley region was better than we imagined. Their selection of wineries was excellent as well as the restaurant where we enjoyed lunch. It was not a rushed day, but relaxing and informative and Connie's knowledge of wines -- incredible. They picked us up at our hotel and were on time. It was by far one of the best days of the trip. Can't wait to return and spend the day with them touring the Maipo Valley wineries.

My wife and I did 3 full days of wine tours during our wine vacation to Chile and Argentina. Hands down, Uncorked was our favorite guide of the lot. Connie and Jose's professionalism and breadth of wine knowledge was apparent from the very minute they picked us up from our hotel for our tour of Casablanca and San Antonio. They work seamlessly as a team and their enthusiasm for wine is contagious. These guys are serious about their wine! During our lunch at Morande, Jose drove to a nearby winery that they were researching and picked up a couple of bottles to sample with their dinner. My wife summed it up best as we reminisced over our last dinner in Mendoza. Paraphrasing, she commented, '...the scale and wines of the wineries in Mendoza (Uco/Lujan de Cuyo) were phenomenal, but my best memory was our tour with Connie and Jose. The energy was just so good.' Honestly, I couldn't have agreed more.

We were lucky enough to be able to book a day´s tour of the Casablaca Valley area with Uncorked Wine Tours. Connie and Jose tailored the tour exactly to our needs. We just wanted to see two wineries then have a relaxed lunch. We were collected from our hotel at 9.00 am in a comfortable modern car. First stop was Emiliana organic winery which uses only natural resources plus a touch of mysticism. It seems to work! Next the impressive modern Indomita winery, only ten years old but already winning prizes. At each winery we felt like privileged guests, making this a very special experience. The day was gorgeous and the scenery spectacular. Finally a leisurely lunch at Morande. Tasters of fine wine and gourmet food (including kobe beef) to see how well they match. If one were to want a more substantial meal Connie could always arrange this. The journey back over foothills of the Andes included some striking views. We were back in our hotel by 5.00 pm. Connie is a charming guide, fluent in English and obviously enjoying her job. Her partner Jose drives and looks after the paperwork. Their tour prices are much the same as for other tours but they provide an experience which must be unique. We would thoroughly recommend Uncorked Wine Tours to anyone visiting Santiago.

I've been a wine geek for over 15 years now and this was an awesome value. Anyone can spend a lot of money and get a good bottle of wine but finding the value is the goal. The uncorked one day tour with Connie and Jose was an excellent value. From the time they picked us up until they dropped us off they provided excellent advise, suggestions, knowledge and made sure we were comfortable. The knowledge and insight to the wine areas of Chile was great. Then lunch with wine pairing was REALLY good. You get what you pay for and this is an incredible value for wine tour/tasting. I will be back and book ahead to save my spot.

My partner and I did a day tour with uncorked wine tours in the Casablanca and San Antonia wine valley's. The picked us up on time by greeting us with a big smile in the foyer of our hotel. The 4WD was aircomditioned with water etc for our 40min drive to the first to of our stops. The first vineyard was simply breathtaking (the guide was so passionate about the wines and tour) and the second winery even more so. Connie our guide spoke English very well and her passion for wine was infectious. Included was a 4 course lunch with matching wines. Then a 3rd tour of another great vineyard. All tours were done by professional from each of the vineyards. Connie knows which vineyards were best to visit and this showed. I can not recommend this tour strongly enough. From beginning to end it was nothing short of amazing!
